Just returned from a really good work shop run by Sheena Douglass where this great Xmas decoration was one if the projects. Just amazing that it all started off as plain paper or cardboard. I really enjoyed making it

The crop challenge

I won our crop challenge last night with this card. Ok so I know it's not a scrap book layout and that's what crops are all about but we do a bit of both at the  wearcraft crop, its a lot of fun on a Friday night!!!

Sunday morning papercraft fayre

I just love these papercraft fayres but always spend too much money and then spend several hours rearranging my craft room to accommodate it. Even if there are only a few items it effects everything else and so many boxes are emptied and refilled with something else which then has to be relabelled, is it a chore? Absolutely not I love it, trouble is after the rearranging I can find nothing!!! Anyway I did have time to make a few more Xmas cards this weekend and here they are

Little boys card

I don't very often buy DVD's for crafting as they seem like I'm cheating but I really do like polka doodles as they have so many digi stamps and the backing papers are simple but lovely colours. The Tuff cd was used for this little boys card

To sail o"er silent seas

I'm having a break from Christmas card marking thro necessity since I have lots of birthdays at this time if year. This card is for my brother in law and is made using a Sheena Douglas stamp stamped with distress inks (walnut stain) and then a damp paintbrush to blend. For highlights in the water and on the sails I used h2o's. it was mat and layered on coredonations that has been embossed.

My very first tag book,

Thanks to the inspiration from scrappyjen at the wear craft crop I've completed my first tag book and I'm really pleased .

Christmas is coming

Every year I plan to start early making Christmas cards. Maybe 3 a month throughout the year but of course that never happens so now there will be a panic on trying to make them all. And so it begins.....

It's over a year

its over a year since i posted anything on my blog, that's not because I haven't done any crafting on the contrary i've done loads i just seem to forget to photograph them and once i've given them away its too late. so, i'm going to make a concerted effort to remember to blog the cards I make.

This one started out with an idea that i would make a card and envelope combined so that the folder would be opened up and the image would be part of it. it seemed like a good idea at the time but my mother-in-law, who this is for, loves verses and where would I put it? so the topper was added to an 8x8 square card and the folder has become a rather nice container for the card.

The background of the topper is stamped with flitter glue using an indigoblu poppies stamps and gilding flakes have been applied. the background is pan pastels but i sprayed it with a gold glimmer mist to set it and add a bit of a shine.

The butterflies have been cut out on my grand caliber and i used the darker pan pastels to colour them and again sprayed them with glimmer mist.

I hope she likes it.
